Naturally speaking: Many reasons to keep your feline pets indoors
A baby blue jay lay lifeless on the ground underneath some shrubs in my yard. This young bird did not starve, its parents didn’t leave it too early and it didn’t succumb to West Nile Virus.
It was killed by a neighborhood cat.
This time of year, lots of young birds get killed by cats running wild – the birds have just fledged and can’t fly away quickly. They are no match for stealthy, fast-running cats.
