Columbus replica ships dock at Waukegan Harbor

WAUKEGAN – Two replicas of Columbus’ ships, The Pinta and The Nina, will dock at the Waukegan Harbor, 55 S. Harbor Place July 26 and depart early on July 30.

Both ships are part of a sailing museum of  the Columbus Foundation in the British Islands to educate children and the public on caravels, which were common trading vessels in use during the Age of Discovery.

Waukegan Harbor director, Brion O’Dell, said the sailing museum docked the Waukegan Harbor four years ago and the staff is happy to have the exhibit again this year.
