Since 1932, Pierce Florist has been familiar stop in Waukegan’s historic downtown. This year marks the business' 80^th year and owner Wendy Walker is making sure that milestone is celebrated in style. The shop will host an entire month of activities, starting with a birthday celebration, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 3. Festivities include cupcakes, prizes, flower cupcake displays, a trivia contest, and a 5-foot tall cupcake on display.

The fun doesn’t end after the party. The month-long activities will include a special sale the second week, a flower designing class at 5:30p.m., Aug. 16, and  a scavenger hunt during the fourth week as well as pictures with Tulip the Teddybear from 2 to 5 p.m., Aug. 29.
