Magician hopes to wow at Wauconda cemetery

WAUCONDA – Paranormal magician Joe Diamond doesn’t read minds and perform difficult stunts to convince spectators he’s doing magic. Rather, his motivation is the challenge of exciting the audience with his stunts.

“It doesn’t matter if you believe or disbelieve as long as you have a mystery or story to take home,” said Diamond. At the age of 24 Diamond already holds a world record for solving the world’s largest corn maze blindfolded. In 2010 he completed 11.1 miles of trail in the 38.8 acre-maze, located at the Richardson Farm in Spring Grove, in just under three hours.

Diamond, of Wonder Lake, is gearing up to perform a similar stunt during the Wauconda Township’s Historical Tour and Cemetery Walk on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Wauconda Cemetery. Diamond will ask an attendee to hide a coin in the cemetery. Diamond will later attempt to discover the coin despite being blindfolded.
