The science, magic of autumn colors
Science is magic. That statement might seems like a contradiction, but during autumn, the romance of golds, reds, purples and yellows overtaking the green of leaves from summer seems mystical. A scientific explanation for this miracle of autumn, of course, exists.
It’s all about chlorophyll, anthocyanins and carotenes – color pigments.
Just as each of us has different color pigmentations in our skin making us light or dark complected or somewhere in between, leaves contain several color pigmentations.
