Highwood mayor says 'Bring it on, Keene'

HIGHWOOD — Highwood's Pumpkin Festival kicks off Oct. 18 with thousands of pumpkins making their way to 6-foot scaffoldings on the streets of Highwood and lighting up simultaneously Oct 20 around 6 p.m.

Highwood mayor, Charlie Pecaro, has been elbow deep in pumpkin guts in preparation of what he hopes will take Highwood to the Guiness Book of World Records for the second time in a row.

“Last year we had 30,919 lit pumpkins but Guiness couldn't verify that, so the record is 30,168,” Pecaro said.
