One-Hundred guests at The Vine equals 60,000 meals for the hungry

GRAYSLAKE — Like a well-oiled machine, servers dressed in black, quickly but carefully burst in and out of a room at The Vine Martini and Wine Bar in Grayslake where dishes that were part of a seven-course fundraising meal plan were being prepared under the supervision and guidance of celebrity guest chef Chris Jones of San Francisco on Oct. 20.

The 100 dining guests of the evening each paid $100 for what was a fundraiser that benefited the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

“With each dollar we get we can provide six people with a meal,” said Tiffany King of the NIFB. “With this check we can provide 60,000 meals.”
