
New electrical engineering degree offers transfer optionsLAKE COUNTY JOURNALS GRAYSLAKE – The College of Lake County is launching a new associate in applied science degree in electrical engineering technology in the fall semester, starting Aug. 25. Though classes will soon start, prospective students can still enroll for this new program preparing graduates for immediate entry into careers or transfer into a bachelor’s degree completion program at two major universities. CLC has signed articulation agreements with Milwaukee School of Engineering and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale guaranteeing that credits from the CLC electrical engineering technology program fully transfer to these institutions (grade requirements apply). MSOE, founded in 1903 and located within commuting distance in Milwaukee, is a private university with about 2,700 students. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a variety of areas including several engineering-related, business and health care disciplines. SIU, a major institution in Illinois’ public university system, is offering the electrical engineering technologist option at its Carbondale campus.
