Gurnee trivia

This week’s Gurnee Trivia Question asks: Larry Klemm was the first president of the Gurnee Days Corporation. Who was the first secretary of that organization? Bonus question: Who was the first publicity chairman?

Trivia answer

The first secretary of the Gurnee Days Corporation was Bob Long, who was representing the Gurnee American Legion. At that time, all members of the corporation had to represent an organization in the village, a school district, the library, a church, a civic or service organization, etc., plus there were members who represented the “community at large." Larry Klemm represented the Gurnee Lions Club. Representing the Warren-Newport Women’s Afternoon Club, I was the first PR person for the group.
