Next electronic recycling date Sept. 6

WAUCONDA – The next electronic recycling date is from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 6.

You’re invited to bring your electronic recyclables to the Wauconda Township Highway Department located at 505 W. Bonner Road in Wauconda. 

Glenn Swanson, Wauconda Township supervisor, said the recycling has continued with great success in cooperation with SWALCO, the Village of Wauconda, and the Village of Island Lake. 

The department collects from all township residents, which include the un-incorporated areas or any village resident within the township every first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to noon. 

The following items are accepted: monitors, keyboards, miscellaneous cords and cables, modems, laptop personal computers, main frames, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, palm organizers, hand-held games, battery backups, printers, TVs, VCR/DVD players, video games, joysticks, game controllers, cameras, speakers, radios, stereo systems, portable radios, CD players, radio-controlled toys, electric toy slot cars, electric toy trains, typewriters, word processors, copy/fax/adding/swapostage machines, scanners, calculators, paper shredders, telephones, cordless phones, answering machines, cell phones, pagers, CBs/two way radios, blenders, coffeemakers, microwaves, fans, humidifiers/vaporizers, vacuums, toasters, power tools, sewing machines, waffle irons, scales, irons, hair dryers, curling irons, electric razors, and electric toothbrushes.
