Burger King announces scholars awards

The "Have it Your Way" Foundation announced it has awarded $806,000 in scholarships as part of the Burger King Scholars program.

The following local high school seniors have received $1,000 scholarship awards in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement, along with other academic and community involvement criteria:

Sarah Behm of Fox Lake of Grant High School; Megum Iwasaki of Grayslake of Grayslake Central High School; Georgia Katsoolias of Gurnee of Warren Township High School; Cherie-Lynn Dingman of Johnsburg of Johnsburg High School; Amanda Adams of Libertyville of Libertyville High School; Angelica Salgado of Round Lake of Round Lake Senior High School.

Scholarship awards are intended to help graduates offset the cost of attending college or a post-secondary vocational/technical school.
